Dealing with the weirdest customer requests while working at a bookstore
The shop bell rang, and a woman walked in wearing a strange mix of old-fashioned clothes. She looked at our new books as if they were holy. She finally came to the counter with a wild look in her eyes. She asked if we had any books that had been read before. I explained that we were a new bookstore and only sold brand-new copies. She frowned and told me she wanted books with history, like they had been owned by someone special. She called our new books boring and empty. I told her politely that I could not help, but suggested a used bookstore down the street. She got angry and called me a gatekeeper. I was confused, so I tried to explain how our store works, but she just sighed and looked at me like I was simple. She even asked if I was stopping the growth of literature by not having old books. I just wanted my break to start. Finally, she gave up on me and walked out. After she left, I noticed a mess in the fiction section. She had moved the books around based on the authors' middle names instead of the usual way. It took me a long time to fix the shelves. By the time I was finished, the bell rang again, but I didn't even look up.

I literally gasped when I read the ending.
I'm sorry you're dealing with that. It honestly sounds like you should look for something new.
That made my blood boil just reading it.
Been there, done that, and I promise it gets better.
I feel your pain on a spiritual level.
Is it bad that I found this hilarious?
I love a good petty revenge story, please keep us posted.
The audacity of some people never ceases to amaze me.
Maybe try bringing it up with HR, although I know that rarely helps.
Take a long weekend, you clearly need it.
Stick with it, as I'm sure improvement is on the horizon.
This sounds exactly like my last manager, total nightmare fuel.
It's incredible that you didn't lose your temper during that tense meeting.
Sometimes the incompetence of management is just staggering.
Is this a joke? Because it sounds like a bad sitcom script.
Wow, I thought my boss was bad, but this takes the cake.
We have all been there at least once, hang in there.
That is so unprofessional, I would be so angry.
